After a long time we have a new project that we are going to focus on. The working title is "I'm coming home" and it is meant to be a feature film. The story is almost complete. We are going to start writing the screenplay soon. This is going to be the first feature film that we are going to write and direct so we are very excited. Is a two years plan pretty much so we have a long long way to go. But the story is amazing and that will keep us going. In this project we hope to have on board all the talented people that worked with us in the past. So "I'm coming home" is on the way...

So far, working in the VFX industry in London, gives me the opportunity to see how exactly things work, how the films are shot, how the post production pipeline works etc etc. I am very satisfied with the way the things are flowing, but, in a way, it's not enough. Making my own films ( and when I say "my own", i mean with the team of creative people we usually do it) has always been the goal. The ultimate one...

As for news, we 've been accepted in a couple of festivals in Italy. When I have more info I ll post it. We have loads of new ideas, that we need to put down and see where we are going to focus for our next project.

P.S. For some reason lately i started seen my blog as "editing" my life. Keeping the good moments, getting rid of the bad ones :P.

The dream didn't come true in the end. We got an email from Cannes saying that it didn't make it to the official selection. It's definitely a failure. When you aim high it is. I am not going to say that i am not disappointed. I am. But there are two ways that someone can see a failure: He can say i tried as much as i possibly could and in the end i didn't make it so i am actually not that great so maybe I should quit. Or someone can smile and say "Nevermind... just wait until my next one". So that's what i am going to say: stay tuned because that failure gave me a lot of strength, pissed me off and now I have an "open bill" with this festival. Just wait until the next one. But this time we are going to do a proper film with proper budget (if we don't get a funding we'll self fund it again) because just to remind you Juego cost 300 euros. That's not an excuse. Not any more.

Visual Effects Artist on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I

I started working as a Visual Effects Artist in the new Harry Potter that is being released in November as I joined BaseBlack a group of very talented and creative people. Once again I am very excited as it was a film that i always wanted to work on. On my other news, Juego has been given for professional subtitles creation as it is going to participate in several international film festivals in bluray format!

Juego and Time's Up Screening Part 2

The screening went really well. The attendance reached 300 people! I want to personally say thanks to everyone that came to see and support us. And I hope that they will be there in our next project. A few info about the new projects to come as well: We are having 3 new projects in mind, three possible feature films:

- "The Shelve": The screenplay is almost finished.
- "Pretty Lies": Currently in development
- "Time's Up 2": An idea that is spinning around our minds for long. We are developing the story for a new "adventure" with the characters... that are still alive. And it is actually very interesting.

On 27th of February Juego and Time's Up are going to be screened in Olympion, Thessaloniki. There are going to be two screenings: 13.00 and 16.00. The ticket price is 7 euros. I just uploaded the trailer of juego as well.

Woody Allen's Monologue from his new film "Whatever Works"

I was watching Woody Allen's new film called "What Ever Works" starring Larry David. The film is very good. Woody Allen's writing is what makes the diference i guess. He is quite old now and he has a lot of things to say as it seems. The film begins with this huge mologue that Larry David who sees "the whole picture" says to the audience:

What the hell does it all mean anyhow? Nothing. Zero. Zilch. Nothing comes to anything, and yet
there's no shortage of idiots to babble. Not me. I have a vision. I’m discussing you. Your friends, your co-workers, your newspapers, the TV. Everybody's happy to talk, full of misinformation. Juego Editing, Color Grading and Visual Effects Finished!

The visual elements of Juego have finished. Yesterday we went to Bournemouth to record the voice overs and to dub some dialogues. Now its time for Janis Klavenieks to make his magic in the sound design and music. Oh and Melios is going in the studio to record the song "Black Rose" for the ending titles. Thanks to fishbone records for their cooperation.

Juego Post Production - The Final Stage

Juego is at the final stage of post production. A bit of compositing, color grading is left as well as some 3D stuff. Sound design is on the way with Janis Klavenieks once again on board! Hopefully its going to be finished by the end of October.
